Day off

Sunday is a day off from flying. I have decided to drive up to St. Augustine and spend the day around the area. The St. Augustine lighthouse is the first item on the agenda. Although the heat makes the climb to the top a sweaty experience, the view is well worth the effort.

Shortly before noon, I have to hurry up in order to make it to town in time for the Switzerland - Ecuador soccer game. The Ann O'Malley pub proves to be the perfect venue. The owner is from Buffalo and very much into hockey, so we have a lot to chat about. It doesn't take much to talk everybody into supporting the Swiss and the final score of 2:1 generates a lot of cheers.

After the game, I walk around town, watching a pirate ship depart from the harbor and soldiers firing cannons at the fort.
